Tea Party candidate loses to John McCain

More people need to learn new things. J.D. Hayworth was endorsed by the Tea party in the Arizona Republican Primary and John McCain needed to beat him. You will find others with candidates like John McCain, but he is really good at campaigning. Hayworth was trounced in the primary, and may have to lick his wounds for an additional six years. Many wonder how the Tea Party will come out within the end when watching the Alaska Senate race and Florida Senate race.

McCain does better than Tea Party

A fight was being brought by the defeated Republican candidate from the last presidential election, Senator John McCain. Former congressman J.D. Hayworth, a Republican and Tea Party darling, was gunning for his Senate seat, along with many other anti-incumbent candidates. Hayworth ended up showing his hostility toward the Washington establishment. This didn’t help him at all. McCain received about 60 percent of the vote and Hayworth only 30 percent. An immigration stance change came from McCain, says CNN. He also spent $20 million on his campaign this time. Every person knows he’ll win. The democrats aren’t even a competition.

Florida Senate

2010 Florida elections might be more interesting. Governor Charlie Crist is running as an independent. Running under republican is Tea Party Marco Rubio that is also a member of Florida legislature. Kendrick Meek upset Jeff Greene after the Democratic primary ended. Greene self-financed his campaign but failed to capture the primary.

Alaska up for grabs

The home state of Sarah Palin also has a closely viewed election for the U.S. Senate. Jeff Miller, endorsed by Sarah Palin and is Tea Party, is running against longtime incumbent Lisa Murkowski. The race was close to a tie. Miller led by a very small amount. Tea Party candidates are thus far somewhat successful in primaries, but the true success could be determined in November.
